Infections
General
Infections are caused by bacteria and Viruses trying to invade our
bodies. They try to reproduce and survive. Our Immune system most of
the time detects these organisms and quickly deals with them before
they have time to take hold. If the immune system is weak or not
functioning as it should they may survive. Those that survive do so by
attacking healthy cells and tissues. If an infection is chronic or
re-current eg. A nasal infection or cold that you can’t seem to get rid
of, this is a sign that the immune system is weak and needs
strengthening. Poor hygiene plays an important role in transferring
infections from one person to another eg. Not washing your hands after
going to the toilet, coughing, sneezing, sharing drinking mugs etc. You
may have mucous and a cough, feel fatigue, fever, heat, headache,
aching muscles, redness, swelling and sweating.
