FIBRE The reason we need it.

As a housewife myself having reared 5 children myself I am pleased that they were not
growing up in the fast food era like children are today. There is a MacDonald's or a Pizza
place just about on every corner nowadays Coke and Soft Drinks are drunk instead of pure water even Fruit Juices can cause problems if to much is consumed.
My Grandmother had 12 children and she had a large vegetable garden and Orchid & being on a farm had her own Milk and she got all of her grandchildren to help churn the Butter . We live in a very modern world where a lot of people have moved into the city which has turned into a world of connivance.

Did you know Meat has no Fibre? It is one way of getting Protein and Iron but only a small portion should go on our plate. And the biggest serving should be Vegetables.

There are two types of Fibre. SOLUABLE AND UNSOLUABLE .
The Soluble type provides the most protection inside the digestive tract . It forms a sticky gel that acts like a protective coating preventing harmful substances from doing damage by passing through the small intestine wall. Take the fat eaten with a steak for instance , if you have eaten high fibre foods Like vegetables or the dried beans this would prevents the cholesterol entering your body, and because the soluble Fibre is not absorbed it is passes on down through the colon with the insoluble Fibre & out of your body as part of the well formed stool.
The part that Insoluble Fibre plays in the colon is that it is incredibly absorbent. It can soak up many times its weight in water as it passes through the intestines. As a result. It causes stools to become larger, firmer and easier to pass. This is the key. The faster the stools pass out of the body the less time any harmful components the soluble fibre has trapped can do any damage to our cells and kick off the cancer process. This is where 6-8 glasses of water a day helps the process.
